Daily Painting – garlic, mug, plate and spoon

The Daily Painting   So, for you today, a daily painting. (That’s what I call this size of painting – 6×6″ – although I don’t actually paint one every single day.) Don’t ask me why this combination of items- I just kind of grabbed items. I wanted the shine of the ceramic mug and plate, the ultra shine of the spoon and all contrasted with the matte quality and rounded softness of the garlic. Plein air painting on Salt Spring Island

Over the weekend I was on Salt Spring visiting my Mum and Dad. Since the weather was glorious, we headed out to do some plein air painting. It’s been quite some time since I pastelled on location so I was a bit apprehensive. But you know what? It went okay. I see a few things I’d like to alter and will post the final version later but for now, here’s what happened.
