MY NEWEST VIDEO!!

It’s 1st of December as I write – is that for real??? I remember when I thought, Oh wow, I have another three months until Christmas, what a relief! But now it’s what? 24 days. Have to deal with it I guess.

Okay, onto my real news! I’m excited about my newest video! Click here to go to my YouTube channel. It shows a sped up demo of me pastelling nasturtiums in a glass. Again I have narrated over the video giving some indication as to my process. Please watch and let me know what you think!

HOW I MAKE A VIDEO

Someone was asking how I produced a video like this. Basically I set up the camera, do a pastel (I have to do it in 30 mins or less because the card I have in my camera only records that much so I have to be really, really prepared!), record an intro (many takes!!!), record narration (a few takes), then edit it all in iMovie, and finally, upload it. I’m getting a bit quicker at the whole process now that I understand the software but creating all the pieces takes time as does the editing. But it feels great once I get to the point of uploading. It’s a feeling of, I DID IT!!!!

Have a look and feel free to leave a comment below the video on YouTube (or at the end of this blog) and hopefully a ‘thumbs up”. If you do like what you see, why not subscribe to my channel? That way, you’ll be the first to know when I upload my next video!

ONTARIO HERE I COME!

Cam and I leave tomorrow for Ottawa to visit his Mum who has just had an eye operation. (Reminds me of that blog I did on eyesight and how thankful I am for it. We (I!) sure take it for granted sometimes.)  While there I’m hoping to get to the National Gallery and possibly a couple of other cultural institutions like the Museum of Civilization. We’ll see how the time goes. I’ll report back on what catches my eye!

Mid-week I go on to visit my sister Andrea in Nanticoke for a few days before heading home. I haven’t seen her for over a year and I am excited to see her and her new house. We always have a fun time together!!!

ALMOST THE END

Wow, this a short blog. Must be worn out from preparing my first newsletter that went out on Friday and figuring out how Mad Mimi works and loading all my contacts into the programme. It was such a great feeling after I’d done it all and as a bonus, I’ve been hearing from people I haven’t been in contact with for ages! VERY worthwhile.

Until next time!

PS. My latest reading is The Beautiful Mystery by Louise Penny. I had never heard of this author before but this is her eighth mystery with main protagonist, Inspector Gamache. I can hardly wait to read her other books. I’m halfway through and can hardly put the book down but at the same time, I don’t want it to end. The mystery takes place in a remote monastery in Quebec where the focus of the monks, along with their devotion to God, is music, specifically Gregorian Chant. One of the monks is murdered and the Inspector and sidekick Beauvoir are called in to investigate. I cannot imagine who the killer is but will relish reading the rest of the book to find out! Click on the link below to see the book up close and read great reviews.

PPS. Did you know that if you buy from Amazon using this link, I get a wee commission? Cool huh?

PPPS. That’s not why I’m telling you about the book!!
